Date: 10 May 1918

Place: Happy Valley, Llandudno

The body of an infant child was found in a cave adjoining the Happy Valley.

The body was discovered by a boy who was playing hide-and-seek with two friends. He had crept into the cave which was at a spot nearly filled with debris.

A doctor said that there was no doubt that it had lived and that it had been strangled. He said that it had not been dead for more than 36 hours when it was found.

A policeman said that it was found wrapped in linen although there were no marks to identify where it had come from.

The Coroner's jury returned a verdict of wilful murder against some person or persons unknown.
