Age: 0

Sex: male

Date: 1 Nov 1918

Place: Hagley Road Railway Station, Birmingham

The mummified body of a dead baby was found in a brown paper parcel at Hagley Road Railway Station.

The parcel was discovered by a porter when she went into the ladies' lavatory. It was resting on top of a cistern.

She left the parcel where it was and went to get the station master who came to the conclusion that it contained a dead infant and informed the police.

The police said that it was impossible to determine what sex the child was as it was mummified and had been dead for several months.
