Charlotte Emma Jordan died from an illegal operation.
She was a widow.
Before she died Charlotte Jordan said that her boyfriend had struck her several times and her boyfriend was charged with unlawfully assaulting her but was released after the inquest showed that Charlotte Jordan had been illegally operated on. The operation had set up peritonitis and caused death.
Charlotte Jordan said that her boyfriend had got her in trouble and that he had told her that he would pay the expenses if she would get rid of her trouble. However, she denied that she had had an operation and said instead that her boyfriend had struck her several times.
The doctor said that Charlotte Jordan had told him that her boyfriend had struck her several times and that he had thought the statement was so serious that he communicated the matter to the police. He said that she had no bruises on her or marks which would suggest that she had been operated on.
After she died he carried out a post-mortem and said that if she had been assaulted he would not have found peritonitis.
The doctor said that Charlotte Jordan had been operated on with some instrument.
