Edward Jenkins was found dead in West India Dock.
He had been paid over £5 in wages at 2pm but at 3.30pm when his body was recovered from the dock he had only 6.5d on him.
Five men were found in the docks under the influence of drink and a quarter flask of brandy with a hole in the end was found where the men had been working.
Edward Jenkins had been a ship's clerk.
