Date: 25 Jul 1919
Place: Monkhurst Farm, Heathfield
The body of a newly-born child was found in an advanced state of decomposition by two men who were mending a hedge at Monkhurst Farm in Heathfield.
The body was wrapped up in brown paper and tied with string.
It had apparently lain there for several weeks.
It was close to the footpath that ran from Park Corner, Heathfield to Maynards Green.
