The body of an almost headless newly-born child was found in a backwash of the River Don known as Tail Gate, just off of Rutland Road.
The body was discovered by a 15 year old boy who saw some legs sticking out of a coat in a pile of rubbish. He said he touched the coat with his shovel and discovered the body of the child.
