The body of a newly-born male infant was found in a hedge bordering the footpath leading between Bathwick Street and Powlett Road in Bath.
The body had been wrapped in a black shirt, a piece of old curtain and a piece of calico.
It had been dead for about three weeks and the cause of death was given as neglect at birth.
