Errol McKenzie was shot dead on 11 April 2010 at playing fields on Seymour Road in Leyton.
He was found with three bullet wounds to his chest.
Police said they were trying to identify two men on bicycles who were seen riding around on CCTV recordings around 7pm.
One of the cyclists had been wearing a dark-blue hooded top and faded blue jeans and had been riding a bicycle with a distinctive 'whale tail' mudguard.
The other cyclist had been seen riding on the pavement along Lea Bridge Road, carrying a bag.
Shortly before he was shot, he had bought some alcohol from a nearby shop which was found near his body. He had also bought a takeaway, and the takeaway cartons were also found near his body. A bag with two cable boxes, connected with his work, in it was also found nearby.
He was a salesman and had a job fixing cable boxes and electrical equipment for which he was known as Cable Guy. He had earlier been to an address in Tottenham near to Northumberland Park railway station in regard to the sale of a cable box.
After leaving the address near Northumberland Park railway station around 10.45pm he had then gone back to Leyton where he had gone into a shop at 11.15pm, being seen on CCTV, and bought the alcohol and then gone into the playing fields. It was thought that he was shot about 30 minutes after that and was found soon after at about 12.50am.
The police said that they didn't know how he had travelled back from Tottenham to Leyton and appealed for anyone that had seen him on the journey to come forward noting that he could have taken a number of routes by public transport or by taxi.
The police said that they knew of no motive for his murder.
