The body of a newly-born female child was found wrapped up in a brown paper parcel on a train that arrived from Witham at Liverpool Street Station in London at 8.46pm.

The parcel was in a third-class carriage.

An address in block letters was written on the parcel in black parcel ink for a place in Yarmouth.
