Uche Michael Onkonko-Nwosu

Age: 49

Sex: male

Date: 19 Jun 2010

Place: Cookhill Road, Abbey Wood

Uche Onkonko-Nwosu died from head injuries.

He was found by a milkman at the back of his mini cab at 4.47am in Cookhill Road which is a cul-de-sac about a mile from his home.

At the time he was working for Amber Cars in Plumstead High Street and had just finished a job in Sewell Road at around 4.40am where he had dropped off a passenger a few hundred yards from Cookhill Road where he was found.

The manager at Amber Cars where Uche Onkonko-Nwosu worked said 'He had just completed a fare and we just don't know whether he still had the customer in his car or was returning home after dropping them off. Michael was a model driver who worked very hard. He was a very placid, quiet man. He certainly wasn't the type to instigate a confrontation.'

He was taken to the Royal London Hospital in Whitechappel but later died.

He had been driving a silver Ford Galaxy car and when he was found the doors were open although it was not thought that anything had been stolen. A SatNav that was in his car was still there.

He was thought to have driven to Sewell Road about twenty minutes earlier just after 4.30am and police said that they were interested in speaking to anyone that had been in the area between 4am and 5am.

The police released a CCTV image of a man seen running past a parade of shops between 4.42am and 4.44am in Eynsham Drive, Abbey Wood who they said they wanted to speak to.

He had been married for five years and had two daughters. He was born in Nigeria and had lived in Germany before moving to England.
