The body of a newly-born child was found in the archways between Milton Street and St Paul's Road in Middlesbrough.
It was discovered by a woman who was passing through inside the door of a lavatory to a house in Milton Street.
The body was nude and cold.
The doctor said that death was due to inattention at birth and that the child had evidently been born 24 hours earlier.
