The body of a newly-born child was found in a barrel behind a house.
It had been strangled with something like a soft braid bandage such as a handkerchief and was quite naked.
The yard had access from a footpath which led to the adjoining Wilkinson Sanatorium.
The doctor stated that the child had lived for at least 5 minutes.
