The body of a newly-born female child was found dead in a yard at the rear of Green Lane in Manningham.

It was found in the morning and was thought to have lain there for several hours.

A police surgeon said that the boy was fully developed and weighed 7lb. 15oz. He did not think that the child had been suffocated as there were no marks on it's mouth and gave the cause of death as being due to lack of proper attention at birth. The lungs were fully inflated and it was said that the child was fully born and had had a separate existence.
