The burned body of a newly-born child was found in Oakley Square, Camden Town in April 1921.
The charred remains were found wrapped up in a sheet of brown paper with an evening newspaper for an outer covering by a police constable.
Medical evidence showed that the remains were extremely charred and the sex was not recognisable.
It was also impossible to state the cause of death.
The police evidence was that there were no marks on the wrappings and they were unable to trace the parents.
The inquest was held at St Pancras on 20 April 1921 where an open verdict was returned.
