The body of a newly-born child was found floating in the River Thames at Kew in a large fish-box.
The large fish-box was found floating in the river and was brought ashore and broken open. The lid had been nailed down.
It was found to have contained the body of a newly-born child with a cord twisted tightly round its neck.
The child had been in the water for about four days.
