The body of a newly-born male child was found wrapped up in a parcel in Woodville Road, Kilburn by some boys.
They had been walking along the road when they had seen it lying in the gutter and started to kick it about and throw it in the air until the string broke and the body was revealed.
The doctor who examined the body said that it had died less than 24 hours after it was born, and that death was due to strangulation. There were distinct marks of twine having been tied tightly around its neck.
