James John Greary

Age: 40

Sex: male

Date: 24 Jul 1909

Place: Wray Common

James John Greary was found dead on Wray Common.

His body was too decomposed to determine the cause of death.

He was last seen by a policeman who had seen him on 14 June 1909 at 2.45am in Pilgrims' Way, Reigate. He said that he found him sleeping under a haystack and that when he had asked him what he was doing there James Greary had told him that he had had a fill-up of beer the previous night.

When he was found he was in the same place where the policeman had previously seen him. He was found lying on his chest with his left arm thrown out at full length in the long grass close to some bushes.

A verdict of Found Dead was returned.
