Baby

Age: 0

Sex: male

Date: 25 Apr 1924

Place: Cornwall Gardens, Kensington, London

The body of a newly-born child was found by workmen in a box.

It was wrapped up in a woman's silk veil and the box had the initials J. F. N. on it made from brass nails.

It was thought that the child had been in the box for about a year.

A woman who had been employed at the house for about 15 years said that the house had been occupied by two elderly ladies who had left in November 1923.

She said that the initials on the box corresponded to one of the brothers who had also been servants there but that he had died some years before.

At the time the workmen were converting the house into flats.
