David Savage

Age: 42

Sex: male

Date: 5 Sep 2015

Place: Kielder Way, Gosforth, Newcastle-upon-Tyne

David Savage was stabbed outside his home in Kielder Way, Gosforth during a party that he was holding.

He had been stabbed twice, once in the front of his chest and once under his left armpit and he died from blood loss.

A youth was tried for his murder but acquitted.

David Savage had held a party at his home where he lived with his long-term partner. The youth had been invited into the party and started talking to David Savage's partner. They then later went upstairs and had sex and then came downstairs. When David Savage saw them embracing, he became angry and asked the youth to leave.

The youth left, however he came back for his gloves and there was a struggle during which punches were thrown.

The youth was then said to have gone home and got a knife and come back and stabbed David Savage outside his house in the street, but the youth said that it wasn't him that had stabbed David Savage and that it must have been someone else.

The prosecution said that CCTV footage showed someone passing the youth something that he tucked into his trousers about two minutes before David Savage was stabbed.

David Savage was found lying on the pavement near his house with blood all over his shirt and paramedics were called and he was taken to hospital but died later that morning.

The murder weapon was found shortly after stuck in the ground not far from where David Savage was stabbed.

However, the youth was acquitted of both murder and manslaughter.
