Arnold Dale died from a wound to his throat.
His father-in-law was charged with his murder but acquitted.
They had been out on a fishing expedition and when they came back they had a row. Arnold Dale was then said to have forced his father-in-law into a passage but to have then immediately staggered back with a wound to his throat. However, no razor was found.
Arnold Dale's wife, who was also the father-in-law's daughter said that Arnold Dale was a violent man and had earlier tried to butt her and had run into a picture and wounded himself with broken glass.
