Alfred Hinson was found in a dazed condition in Duke Street, Hulme and taken to the Withington Workhouse where he died the next day.
He had lived on Hinton Street in Hulme and had got up in the early morning and had gone out into the street to find out the time. He was later found by a constable in a dazed condition with a cut on his head which was dressed and then taken to the workhouse.
His post-mortem revealed that he had an extensive fracture to his skull. it was heard that it might have been caused by a fall or that he might have received a blow that had knocked him down.
