The body of a newly-born male child was found by a rag and bone man in an ash pit in Queen’s Place, Leeds.
The child had a piece of ordinary mohair bootlace tied tightly around its neck and there were also several abrasions on its face.
The doctor concluded that its death was probably due to strangulation and inattention at birth.
