Emily Tomlin was found dead by a cabman around midnight.
There appeared to have been a struggle and the money that she was known to have was missing.
She lived at the Six Bells in Ashwell and had gone to Baldock taking £4 with her with the intention of drawing another £4 from her Post Office Savings Bank so that she could forward £6. 16s. 6d. to the Pampleford Brewery. The money to the brewery had been paid but the remaining money and her purse were not found.
She was last seen alive on the road between Steeple Morden and Ashwell by a man with whom she had been drinking.
She was later found dead at midnight by a cabman.
Her cause of death was given as heart failure.
An open verdict was returned.
