The body of a newly-born child was found in a by-lane off of Leigh Road.
It was found under a hawthorn bush wrapped up in a newspaper, a sheet, women's under-garments, skirt and a blue coat.
There was also a strip of linen tied round it's neck.
The doctor said that the cause of death was due to asphyxia due to the pressure of the material round the neck.
