Charles Richard Kirkham Constable died from meningitis following a small fracture to his skull.
An errand boy said that he had seen Charles Constable with two other men in Beverley on Christmas Eve and that a blow was struck and that Charles Constable had fallen down but that allegation was withdrawn at the inquest and an open verdict was returned.
He had been arrested in Beverley on Christmas Eve and bailed out the following morning after which he was taken ill and later sent to the Soulcoates Workhouse Infirmary where he died on 30 December 1925.
