Lily Parkinson was found dead from poisoning by cyanide of mercury.
In her pockets were found four packets of the poison which were wrapped up in foolscrap paper indicating that they had been supplied by an amateur. Each packet contained 01.5 grains. All local chemists were questioned but only three stocked the powder and none had supplied it within the last three years.
