Age: 0
Sex: male
Date: 13 Jun 1902
Place: Edinburgh Street, Gorse Hill
The body of a newly-born child was found by some boys that were attending to a burning rubbish heap in the back of Edinburgh Street.
One of the boys found a paper parcel which was lying on some grass near the garden railings and when he found that it smelt very badly he threw it straight onto the burning heap. However, the heap was not burning very well and he picked it off the fire and opened it to discover the body of a child.
The post-mortem stated that it was a full term male child and had been dead for quite a month and was very decomposed.
