Lyndon Nowell vanished after leaving a pub.
His car was found burnt out several hours later.
He left his home in Kirkdale at about 5.30pm on Thursday, 24 January 2002 and was later seen in the Coronation pub in Childwall, at around 8.45pm where he met a man in order to collect a debt. His silver Ford Focus hire car was later found burnt out in Blantyre Road in Swinton, Greater Manchester the next day. The car registration was SA51 YNM.
Nothing more was heard from him again. Police dredged canals and dug gardens up looking for his body.
It was thought that he might have gone from the pub to meet someone in Manchester.
