Symon Simson

Age: 41

Sex: male

Date: 17 May 2000

Place: Salisbury Mews, Finsbury Park, London

Symon Simson was found in Salisbury Mews with serious head injuries on 4 May 2000 and later died at the North Middlesex Hospital on 17 May 2000.

It was thought that he had been attacked shortly before near the junction of Salisbury Road with Green Lanes in Finsbury Park after which he had gone into Salisbury Mews.

He had been working at his brother's shop Fairlines grocery store in Green Lanes and was thought to have just locked up at about 10pm and had been attacked as he was heading back to his car near the junction with Salisbury Road and Green Lanes. It was thought that he had then gone into Salisbury Mews which was behind the shop where the shop had a lock up and then collapsed.

He was found in Salisbury Mews at 10.30pm.

He had owned a distinctive blue Ford Capri, registration C111 ULO which was found parked in the car park area of Salisbury Mews. The door was seen to have been left ajar.

He was not thought to have had any enemies.

The police appealed for anyone that had been in the grocery store or the nearby Suffolk Punch pub that evening to come forward.

It was noted that the 4 May 2000 had been the day that there had been an election for a London Major.

Symon Simson was described as a quiet, private man who kept himself to himself. He had previously worked as a mechanic and had a passion for cars and had been a member of the Mustang Club and the Capri Club.
