Date: 20 Apr 1928
Place: Milton Lane, Wells, Somerset
The body of a newly-born-child was found in a parcel in a hedge in Milton Lane.
Decomposition of the body was so great that the lungs and brains were missing and the doctor could not state whether the child had had a separate existence.
The body was wrapped up in a night dress which had the mark 1x29 in red silk or cotton on it. The police made enquiries at various laundries and institutions about the laundry mark but were unable to get any further information about the child's parents.
