Sex: male

Date: 18 Sep 1992

Place: M53 J5, Eastham

Steven Preston went missing in 1992 and is thought to be buried in a landfill tip in Eastham near the M53 at junction 5.

He had lived in Heath Road, Bebington with his parents and was last seen by his mother when she left for work at 8.45am on the morning of 18 September 1992.

His mother said that there had been no arguments and that he had left home without taking his jacket or the medication he was on at the time.

Steven Preston was reported missing five days later and never seen again.

In 2017 it was announced that new information had become known suggesting that he had been murdered and had been buried on land in Merseyside. The police said that the information suggested that he had, 'been murdered and buried in a specific area near junction 5 of the M53'.

The police said that they received a tip-off that he was buried in what was in 2017 a field off the New Chester Road near the motorway and carried out a search for his remains starting on 27 March 2017, but the search was later called off a week later on 6 April 2017. The police said that during the search they dug tens of thousands of holes but found nothing.

It was reported that he had been buried in a landfill tip in the area, but it was also reported that the area searched had previously been fields although one part had been a paddock with stables.
