Annie Hughes

Annie Hughes was run over by a motor-car on the Kentish Town Road.

She was run over on 8 December 1917, a Saturday night.

No trace of the car could be found. A detective said that endeavours to obtain additional witnesses had been futile and that he was afraid that the police would be unable to obtain any clue to the driver.

The jury at her inquest at St Pancras returned an open verdict.

She had been a charwoman and had lived on Kelly Street in Kentish Town.
