Mrs Hernon was found in her bed with her throat cut.
She had been confined on 30 January 1914 and a bed had been put in a downstairs room for the purpose.
On the Saturday night her husband went upstairs leaving his wife and her newly-born child downstairs. When he got up the following morning he her dead in her bed with her throat cut.
The Coroner said that it would have been an extraordinary act for her to have got up out of bed, taken the razor and then gone back to bed and cut her throat in the determined manner in which she had.
A neighbour who had attended her said that she had left her at 11pm on the Saturday night saying that she was seemed all right. She added that on the Friday Mrs Hernon had been rather peculiar on the Friday night but seemed normal on the Saturday.
An open verdict was returned.
