Child

The body of a two-year-old child was found in the suction pit of the underground Electric Railways Generating Station at Lots Road, West Chelsea.

It was thought that the body had been drawn into the suction pit from the bed of the River Thames through a 220-foot-long pipe.

A doctor said that the child had probably died two or three days earlier and had died from asphyxia from drowning.

An open verdict was returned.
