He was found unconscious on Friday 23 January 1914 with a wound on his forehead and later died on the Thursday 29 January 1914.
A doctor said that the cause of death was a short sharp blow but that he could not say whether it was done in falling or whether it was done by someone else.
An open verdict was returned.
