Ernest Rodwell was found dead in a reservoir with a weight tied round his neck.

His body was recovered from the reservoir with a rope round his neck which was attached to a big 28lb coping stone.

Ernest Rodwell had left home on his bicycle and never seen again. On 5 June 1930 a 23-year-old labourer was charged with stealing his bicycle.
