Patrick Sweeney was found dead in his flat at 2.35am.
His brother was tried for his murder but there is no known trial result.
A pathologist said that Patrick Sweeney had a fractured cheekbone and jaw, seven fractured ribs on each side of his body, tears in the bowel and ribs, and was covered in bruises. When the pathologist asked whether the injuries were consistent with being punched and kicked the pathologist said 'yes'. He said that his death was primarily due to blood loss and said that he would have been unlikely to have survived for long after receiving them.
