Surjit Basra was killed by the Grand Union canal close to the Uxbridge Road in Slough on 17 June 1995.
He had suffered from internal injuries consistent with being kicked, as well as facial injuries.
An individual was charged and subsequently acquitted at trial.

see Unsolved 1995FOI made 4 June 2025 to TVP (FOI-15229-25-4300-000) REFUSED on 25 June 2025 on the grounds that it might have an adverse effect upon investigations and the prosecution of offenders, that is revealing the exact date and place of the murder. Decision complained over. AMAZINGLY THEY RESPONDED WITH THE INFORMATION REQUESTED (that must have hurt them) on 9 July 2025. They provided age, date, location, nature of death (short) and the fact that a person was aqcitted. Blood from rocks is achievable!!!
