Joseph Hylton was shot in Mount Pleasant Road, Tottenham on Friday 7 May 2010 at about 11.40pm shortly after leaving his girlfriend’s house.
He died from a gunshot wound to the chest that had pierced his heart and was pronounced dead at the scene. He was found by the police after they were called out to reports of gunfire being heard in Mount Pleasant Road at the junction with Adams Road.
Two men were tried for his murder at the Old Bailey but acquitted.
It was claimed that he had been shot in a dispute between his younger brother and a gang known as the Wood Green Boys over guns and drugs.
It was thought that Joseph Hylton had been living at a bail hostel at the time.
