The gun at was used in his murder was later traced to an 18-year-old youth in Walworth who had been hiding it and ammunition. The gun was found in his bedroom in November 2009 during the search for Daniel Duke's murder. He said that he had been asked to hide it for an unknown man. He was convicted for possession of it and sentenced to 3 years 6 months.
