Esron Germaine

Age: 19

Sex: male

Date: 26 Sep 2003

Place: Livingstone Road, Perry Barr

Esron Germaine was shot in Livingstone Road, Perry Barr on Friday, 21 September 2003. He died three days later on 26 September 2003.

Two men were acquitted of his murder. A third man that was said to have been involved was never traced.

He was said to have been shot at at close range with a ball bearing gun from a nearby block of flats. The ball bearing had been fired at a range of about two metres and had passed through his chest and lodged against his spine, going through his organs. The gun was said to have been illegally-converted.

It was said that he had been beaten up by three men in a flat shortly before and that after he had been chased off he was shot.

Esron Germaine had been staying with a cousin at her flat for the previous few days and that when the friend got home at 11pm on 21 September 2003 she found him sitting down with clothes tipped all over the floor. The friend said that she then called two female friends that had been waiting in a car outside and they came in to see what had happened.

It was said then that Esron Germaine mentioned a man’s name and that man was called. He was one of the men on trial. The man then called a second man and he, the second man and a third unknown man then went over to the flat where they found Esron Germaine in the livingroom and then attacked him.

It was said that the girls were becoming increasingly alarmed about the violence as the third man continued to hit Esron Germaine and said that Esron Germaine was bleeding from the face. The girls were then said to have shouted for the men to leave the flat which they did and that Esron Germaine was then chased from the flat and soon after shot.

Shortly after five men were seen walking away.

One of the men acquitted of his murder was later convicted for possessing a shotgun and four cartridges after he tried to jump out of a window when police had called at his address about a stolen dog. He was jailed for 8 years.
