Baby

Age: 0

Sex: male

Date: 16 Apr 1921

Place: Cowdenbeath

The body of a newly-born child was found in a refuse pit at Cowdenbeath.

It was found by an employee of the Town Council who was at the refuse pit arranging tins that he was collecting from amongst the other rubbish. He said that he was surprised to find the dead body of a newly-born male child.

He said that from the position he found it, it appeared that it had been collected from a house in the town in the usual way of collecting town refuse and as such must have been put out with the rubbish.

It was later learned that it appeared that the child had had the appearance of having been prematurely born the previous day.
