Fabio Fanfarillo was found in the street with a head injury on 27 July 2012 and taken to the Queen's Medical Centre where he died three days later on 30 July 2012.
He was said to have been assaulted in Winchester Avenue, Leicester.
A 50-year-old man was arrested on 27 July 2012, the day of the attack, and charged with Section 18 grievous bodily harm but the charge was later discontinued following medical tests and investigations at the scene.
Two other people were arrested in connection with his death on 8 August 2012, a 26-year-old man and a 46-year-old woman, but no further details are known.
Fabio Fanfarillo was from Italy but had been living in the United Kingdom for some time.
A number of the news sites that reported his death at the time have since removed the content but it is thought that he was attacked either in Lavender Road or at the junction with Lavender Road and Winchester Avenue. It is also thought he might have lived in Lavender Road, or been connected with Lavender Road.
One of the newspaper articles which has since vanished indicated that Lavender Road was a street with a drug problem and had a photo of a police crime scene unit in Lavender Road. However, there is little else remaining on the internet detailing his murder.
