Damian Gordon was shot outside the Club Icon in Bradford on 3 August 2003.

Six men were charged with his murder but acquitted. They were:

  1. 27-year-old man of Oak Lane, Whitefield, Manchester.
  2. 22-year-old man of Burrow Avenue, Chorlton, Manchester.
  3. 21-year-old man of Crondall Street, Manchester.
  4. 20-year-old man of Sargent Driver, Manchester.
  5. 40-year-old man of Easthaven Avenue, Clayton, Manchester.
  6. 33-year-old man of Marlborough Road, Salford.

He had been shot twice in the back as he left the club and was pronounced dead a short time later in hospital. He had been shot once in the back as he was standing outside the club and another time as he went down a set of stairs.

It was noted that the 33-year-old man tried for his murder had been stabbed during a fight involving Damian Gordon in August 2005. He had travelled from Manchester to Bradford on the night to attend the party, however, at his trial he said that he didn't know that Damian Gordon had been at the club and denied murdering him.

Damian Gordon had lived in the Swain House area of Bradford with his wife and son.

The 33-year-old man acquitted of murder, was later convicted for deception and fraud. The police had raided a house linked to him in Norman Road, Huddersfield where they found £145,000 hidden in two security boxes and elsewhere. It was also found that he had made up a job stating that he was earning more than £40,000-a-year in order to get a £170,000 mortgage for a house in Stockport and that he had later re-mortgaged the house, despite not filing any tax returns between 2002 and 2007. It was also shown that between 2002 and 2008 he had made nearly £42,000 of unexplained bank deposits.
