George Albert Allen was found in a street near the entrance to Bishopsgate Station in a comatose state.
He had a few hours earlier been paid his weeks wages of £1 7s and had gone out drinking but when he was found he had not a farthing on him.
He had earlier been seen in the company of two strangers in Vallance Road.
There were no marks of violence on him and the jury at his inquest agreed that he had died from a fall whilst under the influence of drink.
He had been a goods porter at the station.
