Rajnikant Pandya was shot in Anita’s Off-licence in Watford during a robbery.

He ran the off-licence.

He was shot twice in the stomach and the heart and died almost instantly.

CCTV evidence was captured of the shooting which showed a man wearing an animal mask and dressed in dark clothing come in and shoot him at around 9.10pm.

It was noted that the murderer had fled without taking any money and that £140 was left behind in the till.

Soon after the shooting some boys were seen to run across the street. The police said that they didn't know if they were involved but wanted to speak to them to rule them out of their investigations.

At the time he was shot his two daughters, aged 9 and 16, had been upstairs in their home above the shop where they all lived.

Anita’s Off-licence was on the corner of Sutton Common Road and Ridge Road.

Rajnikant Pandya's brother said that Rajnikant Pandya had been scared of crime and as such had been planning to move back to India.
