The body of a newly born child was found under a bush in Bell Lane, Buslingthorpe Lane.
A police surgeon that examined the child said that it was fully developed but had received no attention at birth. He added that the child had had a separate existence and must have lived for at least a few minutes. He noted that there was evidence on the child's face of pressure having been used and that near the child's mouth there was a mark as though a thumb had been pressed against it.
The inquest returned an open verdict.
