Margaret Jackson was found dead in the road near Ellerby Station shortly before 10pm on the Saturday night 20 August 1932.

Her death was due to a fractured skull and it was thought that she had been hit by a motor-vehicle.

Her home was in Ellerby and it was said that she had been into Hull and had been walking from the station to her home when she was hit.

No one saw the incident and it was thought that she had received a passing blow and not run over.

She was the wife of a trawler engineer who was at the time at sea.
