Patrick Douglas Holt was found dead in his bed at the Canadian Forestry Camp in Windsor Great Park, Berkshire. He was wearing his trousers and socks.
A small bottle of morphine tablets was found on him and it was noted that he had been a druggist in Ontario before the war.
It was also noted that he had been wounded on active service.
He had been in charge of the hospital at the camp.
A medical officer also in charge of the camp said that his investigations gave rise to suspicions of narcotic poisoning.
The Coroner said that there was not sufficient evidence to say whether his death was accidental or by misadventure.
