Age: 0
Sex: female
Date: 21 Jul 1915
Place: River Don, Ickles, Rotherham
The body of a newly-born child was found on the river bank near Ickles.
The doctor said that decomposition was too far advanced to determine whether the child had had a separate existence.
The child had a cord tied round its neck that could have been the cause of death, assuming that the child had lived.
A verdict of found dead was returned as there was not enough evidence to prove that the child had been born alive.
